Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats

Is a mandatory maritime safety training course designed to provide seafarers with the knowledge and practical skills required to operate survival craft and rescue boats, excluding fast rescue boats, in emergency situations.

The course covers the construction, equipment, and operation of lifeboats and liferafts, as well as procedures for launching, recovery, and maneuvering. Training includes preparation for abandonment, survival techniques, use of communication and signaling equipment, and management of survivors. Participants also learn rescue operations, boat handling, and safety precautions to ensure the protection of life at sea. Upon completion, trainees are qualified to take charge of or assist with survival craft and rescue boat operations in accordance with international maritime safety regulations and standards.
